Sacred texts and prayers for hope and peace in the New Year
will introduce a one-hour program of solo shakuhachi (Japanese flute) music by Nora alternating with tanka (a Japanese form of poetry in English) by Marilyn, and tanka recited over gentle shakuhachi music structured around the four seasons, in a visual framework of children’s art and beautiful images of nature.After the program we will all have an opportunity for conversation, a discussion and sharing of our thoughts, and light refreshments.
